Technical Assistance Summary

• Know your flood risk. We run advanced numerical modeling of storm surge, waves, sea level rise and rainfall-driven flooding, using tools such as ADCIRC, SWAN, Delft3D and FUNWAVE. That includes joint-probability analysis of coastal and precipitation flooding.
• Turn the risk into local terms. We map flooding at the parcel level under future climate scenarios and estimate property damage and tax-base exposure. These are the numbers local officials and residents respond to.
• Design nature-based solutions. We design living shorelines, hybrid dune systems, eco-revetments, salt marsh enhancement and ecological restoration that reduce flood risk while improving habitat and public access.
• Plan resilience for waterfronts and infrastructure. We develop resilience plans for urban waterfronts, parks and critical infrastructure, and compare options with screening-level analysis so you can prioritize projects.
• Handle permitting and agency coordination. We guide projects through multi-agency review and regulatory requirements. We also support FEMA certification and accreditation for flood risk reduction projects.
• Find and align funding. We identify federal and state funding programs that fit a community's project, so concepts are positioned for grants and cost-share requirements.
• Engage the community. We support public outreach and stakeholder engagement, so plans reflect local priorities and can actually be built.
